TikTok Canada Launches Election Centre for 2025 Federal Election

Ahead of Canada’s 2025 federal election, TikTok Canada has launched an in-app Election Centre aimed at providing users with accurate and authoritative election information.

This initiative, developed in collaboration with Elections Canada, seeks to enhance voter awareness and participation by offering essential details on voter registration, electoral districts, and various voting methods

The Election Centre serves as a centralized hub within the TikTok app, directing users to reliable information about the electoral process. Available in both French and English, it offers guidance on:

  • Voter Registration: Steps to register and ensure eligibility to vote.
  • Electoral Districts: Tools to locate and understand one’s specific voting district.
  • Voting Methods: Explanations of different options for casting a ballot, including in-person and mail-in voting.

Notably, this year’s Election Centre expands its inclusivity by providing access to Elections Canada’s resources in 16 Indigenous languages.

TikTok users in Canada will encounter prompts directing them to the Election Centre when engaging with election-related content or searches, such as “Canada Election 2025” and “Federal Election.”

Beyond providing election information, TikTok Canada is partnering with the Democratic Engagement Exchange at Toronto Metropolitan University and local content creators to produce a series of videos. These videos are designed to demystify the voting process and promote media literacy.

Last month, TikTok Canada warned that the federal government’s decision to shut down its local operations could undermine $1.4 billion to Canada’s GDP.

The next federal election is set for Monday, April 28, which is a mere 35 days away.
