Apple’s M2 MacBook Air Hits Clearance Pricing at Costco
The deals on Apple’s older M2 MacBook Airs keep coming. After we told you about Amazon Canada dropping the price down to $899 yesterday (it’s now back up to $1049), Costco.ca has just dropped the M2 MacBook Air to clearance pricing, meaning ending in .97.
The 13.6-inch MacBook Air with M2 and 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD is down to $898.97, the lowest price we’ve seen to date. The clearance pricing applies to colours silver and space grey and midnight.
The M2 MacBook Air trails the M3 (2024) and M4 (2025) models, lacking their 3nm chip performance—the M3 offers 17-21% faster CPU and 15% better GPU, while the M4’s 10-core CPU delivers 25-30% more power over the M3. It also skips dual external display support (added with M3 in clamshell mode, improved for open-lid use with M4), Wi-Fi 6E (upgraded from Wi-Fi 6 in later models), and the M4’s 12MP Center Stage camera.
But honestly, at this price, the M2 MacBook Air makes for a killer laptop for students and those seeking a Mac for basic computing. Apple’s M4 MacBook Air starts at $1399, so at this price you’re saving $500 and the differences are not that huge. Coupled with Costco’s return policy for electronics at 90 days (versus Apple’s 15 days), you can try out the MacBook Air for a good amount of time tosee if it fits your needs.
You can order on Costco.ca for delivery to your home, or ship it to your local Costco warehouse.
