Level Up Showcase 2025 to Take Place in Toronto on April 12

The Level Up Showcase is returning to Toronto next month. On April 12th, the annual event, dedicated to highlighting student game projects, will be held at the Westin Harbour Castle.

Level Up Showcase 2025 is being organized by Algonquin College, Brock University, OCAD University, and the University of Toronto in partnership with XP Gaming Inc. Attendees will have the chance to see new student projects. The event will also offer students the chance to connect with industry professionals, recruiters, and the public.

As part of the event, students will show off their games and compete for top honours. Level Up Showcase 2025 then gives attendees a chance to play these games, meet the developers and vote for their favourites, over the course of the afternoon. Then, during the closing ceremony, winners are selected.

Level Up Showcase 2025 is backed by major industry partners including Ubisoft, AMD, Sledgehammer, Zynga and regional supporters Ontario Creates, and the City of Toronto. In 2024, Level Up Showcase garnered over 3,000 attendees and was able to showcase the games of over 150 student projects.

“Level Up Showcase is not only a career launchpad for students,” Dr. Steve Engels of the University of Toronto said. “It is a chance for the industry to connect with the next generation of game developers, play their games, share their insights, and scout for talent. Most importantly, it is a celebration of Canadian-made student games from across the post-secondary sector, showcasing the innovation that takes place within our colleges and universities across Ontario.”

The event takes place on April 12, 2025, and runs from 2 PM to 7 PM. Registration for Level Up Showcase 2025 is completely free. To find more information, check out the official website
