Rogers and Fido ‘Winback’ Offers Exclusive $25/40GB Plan
Some former Rogers and Fido customers are being offered a solid ‘winback’ deal: $25/month for 40GB of data, including Canada/US calling and international texting—no contract required.
Shared by multiple users on RFD, the deal appears to be part of a targeted ‘winback’ campaign from Rogers and its flanker brand Fido. To qualify, you must be a former customer (some say at least two years away from the service) and receive or initiate a call with the Winback department at 1-855-879-6170.
One user confirmed they were offered the 40GB plan on Fido, while others mentioned a $35/100GB offer with Rogers. The $75 activation fee is credited back over 10 months for some, though some users say they were able to have it waived entirely. The offer supports bring your own device and there’s no contract commitment as it’s month to month.
While the plan is 4G only, several users said it’s better value than other options they were paying for before. Not everyone has been able to get it, so again, your mileage may vary.
A screenshot of the ‘winback’ deal bill shows it’s actually a $35/20GB base plan, but includes a 20GB monthly bonus to make it 40GB total. A discount of $10/month takes it down to $25, while another $7.50/month discount (over 10 months) eliminates the dreaded $75 connection fee. A $25 plan with 40GB is reasonable for the average user that doesn’t require a ton of data.
Users considering a switch or a port-out might want to explore this path, especially as ‘winback’ deals tend to outperform standard retention offers. Rogers and Fido really want you back with these special ‘winback’ plans. It also shows us what Rogers plans could be like despite the higher-priced plans on its website.
Yesterday, we told you how new Fido plans now charge $5/month extra if you want to use a mobile hotspot. Ouch.
