Nintendo Switch 2: GameCube Controller Coming–It’ll Cost You

Nintendo Canada is releasing a new GameCube-style controller made for the Nintendo Switch 2, priced at $84.99 CAD, set to release on June 5, the same date as the Switch 2.
That price is close to what you’d pay for a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller at $89.99 CAD.
The controller has a similar look and feel to the original GameCube version but includes modern updates like a Capture Button and a C-Button that can activate GameChat (with supported games).
This controller is designed specifically for the Switch 2 and won’t work with earlier Switch models. It’s optional for playing titles in the upcoming Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics collection, which requires a system update and a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
Early access to buy the controller runs May 8–12 for Switch 2 early purchase invitees. Starting May 13, it will be available to paid Nintendo Switch Online members. Limit one per account. The offer isn’t available in all regions or to users on free trial memberships.
