Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders launched today in Canada at numerous retailers, including Amazon.ca.
Right now, Amazon Canada has the Nintendo Switch 2 console and the Mario Kart Bundle listed, but heavy demand means these are “available by invitation”. What does that even mean?
Amazon explains, “High-demand item with limited quantities. We won’t be able to grant all requests. To ensure that as many genuine customers as possible can buy this high-demand item, we sell it by invitation. If invited to purchase, you’ll get an email when the item is available. Not all requests will be granted.” So it’s basically a way it seems to stop scalpers.
Once you submit an invitation, Amazon says, “If invited to purchase, you’ll get an email with a link that’s valid for 22 hours. We won’t be able to grant all requests.”
