The event will feature over 20 minutes of developer-guided gameplay, providing fans with an in-depth look at missions, weapons, Action Skills, and both new and returning characters.

Creative Director Graeme Timmins and Senior Project Producer Anthony Nicholson will lead the presentation, offering insights into the game’s mechanics and narrative. Viewers can anticipate a comprehensive overview of the new planet Kairos, the game’s setting, and the challenges posed by the authoritarian antagonist known as the Timekeeper.

Originally slated for release on September 23, Borderlands 4 will now launch on September 12, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This adjustment positions the game ahead of other major fall releases, allowing fans to dive into the looter-shooter action earlier than expected.

Borderlands 4 introduces several new features to the franchise, including:

  • Expanded Co-op Modes: Support for two-player local splitscreen and up to four-player online co-op.
  • Diverse Skill Trees: The most varied and in-depth skill trees in the series, offering players more customization options.
  • Vast Arsenal: Billions of weapons and accessories, maintaining the franchise’s hallmark of over-the-top firepower.
  • Fresh Characters: Introduction of four new Vault Hunters, each with unique abilities and playstyles.

The upcoming State of Play is a significant milestone in the lead-up to Borderlands 4’s release. With promises of detailed gameplay footage and developer insights, the event is poised to generate excitement and provide a clearer picture of what players can expect from the highly anticipated title.

The livestream will be available on PlayStation’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
