New Threads Dashboard Notifies Users of Post Demotions
Meta’s Threads has unveiled a new feature aimed at enhancing transparency in content moderation, introducing Account Status dashboard that notifies users when their posts are demoted or restricted.

As detailed by Engadget, the Account Status dashboard provides users with detailed information about their posts’ standing on the platform. Users can now see if their content has been removed, downranked, or deemed ineligible for recommendation due to policy violations.
Additionally, the dashboard highlights any restrictions placed on a user’s account, such as limitations on certain features. Importantly, if users believe their content was mistakenly penalized, the dashboard offers a streamlined process to appeal these decisions. The feature is accessible through the settings menu under the “Account” section and is currently being rolled out to all Threads users.
To give users even more control over their content’s reach, Threads has also introduced settings that allow users to opt out of having their posts suggested on Instagram and Facebook. By navigating to the privacy section of the Threads app, users can toggle off the options for Facebook and Instagram, ensuring their Threads posts remain exclusive to the platform.
Beyond moderation transparency, Threads is actively working to improve user experience through various feature updates. Recent additions include the ability to tag others in photos, a dedicated “Media” tab for easier access to shared content, and a “markup” feature that allows users to comment directly on someone else’s post.

Furthermore, Threads has introduced an edit button, allowing users to modify their posts within a five-minute window after publishing. This feature addresses a long-standing user request and brings Threads in line with other social media platforms that offer post-editing capabilities.

When will this site start posting article notifications on Threads just like they do on X? Other sites like AppleInsider and MacRumors are already simultaneously posting on both platforms.
When will people start ditching Meta?
With few exceptions, it's the over 40 crowd that uses FB and Threads. And for the most part they all have the IQ of a mosquito.
