Huawei Launching Watch 5 Alongside new FreeBuds 6

Huawei is launching a collection of wearables, including the Watch 5. The brand new smartwatch offers X-TAP technology as well as the company’s TruSense system, providing more than 60 health and fitness indicators.
Starting at £399.99 (around $742 CAD), the Watch 5 is launching in two sizes. The company is releasing 42mm option as well as a 46mm model, both in ‘Purple’ and ‘Sand Gold’ colourways. According to Huawei, the Watch 5 is design with Aerospace-grade Titanium as well as a 904l stainless steel casing. The Watch 5 face incorporates a spherical sapphire glass to protect it from scratches. The company boasts that the Watch 5, along with its other new wearables, is part of the ‘Fashion Next’ theme its hosting at the product launch in Berlin, Germany.

Huawei’s Watch 5 integrates its TruSense system. Introduced in 2024, TruSense is the software powerering the company’s health and fitness initiatives across its wearables. The sensors integrated on the Watch 5 is able to track and read the calorie intake each day. Other health reports include sleep, heart rate, SpO2, and blood pressure. Watch 5 is also launching with X-TAP technology, offering health monitoring via fingertip measurements.

Alongside the Watch 5, Huawei is releasing its FreeBuds 6 earbuds. The open-fit earbuds include a dual-driver unit, which is claimed to provide substantial bass levels as well as high-resolution audio. The earbuds are fitted with an ergonomic “droplet” design to contour to the user’s ears for comfort. The FreeBuds 6 are launching at £139.99 (roughly $260 CAD), available on the Huawei Store.
Rounding out the release of new wearables is Huawei’s Watch Fit 4 series, which includes the new Huawei Fit 4 Pro. The two devices includes the “first ever” watersports route tracking feature. The Watch Fit 4 series offers offline maps for trail running as well as diving up to 50 meters. There’s also access to over 15,000 global golf course maps available. Huawei is also including a new barometer for elevation gain data when climbing up mountains. The Watch Fit 4 series starts at £149.99 (around $278 CAD) for the base model, while the Watch Fit 4 Pro is launching at £249.99 (roughly $464 CAD).
