Activision Delists Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile on iOS and Android

Activision has pulled Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile from the App Store on iOS and Google Play Store. The decision was made as the publisher decided to shutter service to the game one year after its launch.

According to a recently published support page, Activision states that “the scope of the game is being streamlined and will stop delivering new seasonal content and gameplay updates.” Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will remain active for those who have it installed on their devices.

While the game will remain active for the time being, “players will no longer be able to spend real currency in the mobile game.” It’s also said that players will no longer be able to spend real currency either. However, “existing COD Point balances can continue to be spent in the in-game Store.” Activision also notes that refunds will not be granted for previously purchased in-game content.

Sunday, May 18th was the last day the game could be downloaded from the respective app marketplaces. Battle Pass progression will also continue after May 18th as well for those who wish to continue playing. However, no future content from Call of Duty: Black Ops or Call of Duty: Warzone will not be supported in Warzone Mobile.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile first launched on March 21, 2024. The game was designed to be a mobile version of Activision’s hit first-person shooter Battle Royale spin-off of Call of Duty. Incorporating many of the same mechanics, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was the first instance where Activision re-released the acclaimed Verdansk map prior to it returning to the core Call of Duty: Warzone experience.

As a result of the sunsetting of Call of Duty: Warzone MobileActivision is encouraging players to switch to Call of Duty: Mobile. This mobile game, which was released in 2019, has been widely considered the more popular of the two games.
