Google’s New AI Shopping Tools Help You Find the Perfect Fit
Google has unveiled a suite of AI-powered enhancements to its Shopping platform, aiming to revolutionize the online retail experience by making it more personalized, interactive, and inclusive.

Announced during Google I/O 2025, these features leverage advanced artificial intelligence to assist users in discovering, visualizing, and purchasing products with ease of mind.
At the forefront of these innovations is “AI Mode,” a feature designed to provide tailored shopping recommendations. By understanding user preferences and contextual needs, AI Mode delivers curated product suggestions. For instance, a search for a “waterproof backpack for a rainy trip” will yield results optimized for weather resistance and travel convenience.
Addressing the challenge of finding products that match a shopper’s vision, Google’s “Vision Match” feature allows users to describe desired clothing items in detail. The AI then generates visual representations of these descriptions, presenting similar shoppable products. For example, inputting “colorful midi dress with big daisies” will produce images and links to comparable items available for purchase.
Enhancing the virtual fitting room experience, Google has expanded its “Virtual Try-On” capabilities to include a broader range of apparel, such as pants and skirts. Users can now see how these garments look on diverse models representing various body types, sizes (from XXS to XXL), and skin tones.
Google has also introduced an AR feature that enables users to virtually try on makeup products. By searching for specific looks or trends, such as “soft glam” or “spring makeup,” shoppers can see how various combinations of lipsticks, eyeshadows, and blushes appear on their own faces.

To simplify transactions, Google has introduced “Agentic Checkout,” a feature that allows users to set price alerts and authorize Google to complete purchases on their behalf using Google Pay.
This hands-free approach ensures that shoppers never miss out on deals and can make purchases seamlessly when desired price points are met.
