Freedom Winback Hits $30 for 200GB Ahead of Black Friday

Freedom Mobile

A former Freedom Mobile customer shared a limited-time winback offer on Reddit on Thursday, asking whether Black Friday would beat a $30 plan with 200GB of Canada-U.S.-Mexico data. Winback deals are targeted at people who left the carrier, so this is not a public offer for new customers.

The screenshot shows 200GB that works coast to coast in Canada plus the U.S. and Mexico for $30 a month after the Digital Discount when you bring your own phone, down from a $40 regular rate. The plan also includes 1GB a month of Roam Beyond data for 120-plus global destinations.

Here is what the offer lists:

  • Limited-time winback offer
  • 200GB of Canada, U.S. and Mexico data
  • $30/month (reg. $40/month) after Digital Discount with bring-your-own-phone
  • 1GB/month Roam Beyond roaming in 120+ destinations
  • Extra $5/month discount when bundled with Freedom Home Internet

Many replies focused on the roaming bucket. Several people said 1GB is not enough for a vacation, and some recalled earlier Freedom deals that included 5GB or even 10GB of Roam Beyond. One person remembered a past $40 plan with 250GB and 50GB of global roaming, while others said they returned last year on a $30/60GB winback with 5GB Roam Beyond, switched back on October 27 for $35 with 125GB and 5GB Beyond, or took a $25/50GB buy-back offer.

Others argued $30 for 200GB is still a strong North America deal even with thin roaming, and suggested pairing the plan with a local eSIM when travelling. A few said Freedom seems to keep larger Roam Beyond amounts on pricier tiers. On Freedom’s plans page right now, a Total Freedom plan with 125GB and 5GB of Roam Beyond lists at $45 a month after the Digital Discount for a regular line, so this winback packs more Canada-U.S.-Mexico data at a lower price while giving up most of the monthly roaming.

Last November’s Black Friday winback sat at $29 for 60GB with a one-time Roam Beyond boost, and our recent Freedom plan coverage still shows public bring-your-own-phone tiers near $40 delivering far less than 200GB. Black Friday is about a month away, which is why the Reddit thread asked whether bigger holiday offers are coming.

Would a $30/200GB winback bring you back to Freedom, or are you waiting to see what Black Friday brings?

I am waiting to see if anyone can improve on my $20/60GB (Mexico, US and Canada) plan. However, me thinks I will be waiting a long time.
