Samsung Launches Rugged Galaxy XCover7 Pro, Tab Active5 Pro Devices
Samsung has unveiled two new rugged devices tailored for frontline professionals: the Galaxy XCover7 Pro smartphone and the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro tablet.

Galaxy XCover7 Pro
Designed to withstand harsh environments, these devices offer enhanced durability, performance, and productivity features for industries like construction, logistics, healthcare, and emergency services.
Both the Galaxy XCover7 Pro and Tab Active5 Pro are engineered to meet MIL-STD-810H military-grade standards, ensuring resistance to drops, shocks, and extreme temperatures. They also boast an IP68 rating, providing protection against dust and water ingress. The devices feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for added screen durability.
The Galaxy XCover7 Pro sports a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Vision Booster technology, enhancing visibility in bright conditions. The screen is sensitive enough to be operated with gloves, catering to professionals in various fields.
Under the hood, it houses a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD. The device includes a 50MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera, suitable for documentation and communication needs. A standout feature is its 4,350mAh user-replaceable battery, allowing for extended use in the field. The phone supports 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual SIM (pSIM + eSIM) configurations
Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro
The Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro features a 10.1-inch WUXGA display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits brightness, ensuring readability in various lighting conditions. It comes with an IP68-rated S Pen, enabling precise input even in wet or gloved scenarios.
Powered by the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, it offers 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage, expandable via microSD. The tablet includes a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. A notable feature is its 10,100mAh dual hot-swappable battery, allowing users to replace batteries without shutting down the device, ensuring uninterrupted operation.
The tablet supports Samsung DeX, providing a desktop-like experience, and includes front-facing NFC for secure transactions and asset tracking.

Both devices run on Android 15 and incorporate AI-powered tools like Circle to Search, Object Eraser, and Read Aloud, streamlining tasks for professionals on the move. They also support Samsung Knox Vault, offering advanced security features to protect sensitive data
The Galaxy XCover7 Pro is set to launch on May 8, 2025, while the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro will be available in June 2025. Pricing details have yet to be announced.
