Samsung’s One UI 8 Beta Now Available on Galaxy S25 Devices

Samsung has released its One UI 8 beta across the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. One UI 8 is the company’s riff on Android 16, introducing new AI features for the OS. The beta is available to users in the US, UK, Germany, and South Korea currently.
One UI is launching with improved multimodal capabilities and more personalization, thanks to a new AI experience, enhancing that on the Galaxy S25. It’s stated that One UI 8 is able to recognize context, adding personalization and proactive suggestions throughout your daily routine. Samsung also confirms Now Bar and Now Brief will “deliver even more customized insights and suggestions to help you stay on top of tasks and support your daily routine.”
Unfortunately, the company hasn’t outlined exactly how One UI 8’s new AI integration will boost productivity. However, Samsung claims that One UI 8 has been “optimized for the unique form factors across the Galaxy product portfolio.” This includes incorporating new split-screen options, where users can move one app partially off the screen to the edge so they can focus on another.
As part of the One UI 8 beta, users will see a refresh to Samsung’s Reminder app. The latest software makes it easier to organize and share to-do lists. Users can also add voice reminders while on the go. Samsung’s Auracast is also receiving some improvements. The accessibility feature, which utilizes hearing aids and select eabuds, can connect to shared audio streams without manual setups.
The beta is available now through the Samsung Members app. Those with a Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra can take advantage of the beta. Oddly enough, however, Samsung won’t be supporting the beta on the Galaxy S25 Edge.
One UI 8 is expected to officially launch later this summer. The software will likely debut across Samsung’s new foldable devices, such as the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.
