EB Games Reviving Midnight Launches With Nintendo Switch 2 Event

EB Games (formerly GameStop) is reviving the tried and true tradition of the midnight launch next week. In celebration of the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, EB Games is hosting midnight launch events across Canada.
On June 5, participating EB Games locations will open their doors at 12 AM, inviting fans inside. In over 130 EB Games locations in Canada, fans will be able to pick up their pre-orders of Nintendo Switch 2, purchase new games and a wide variety of accessories and collectibles at midnight.
“The release of the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th will be an epic day for the gaming community, and we are thrilled to announce that we will be opening 132 locations at 12 AM, ensuring our customers are among the first to play,” Jim Tyo, President of EB Games, says.
Adding to the excitement of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch, EB Games is also hosting a Mario Kart activation in Montreal. During the Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival, EB Games will be letting fans get behind the wheel in a real-life Mario Kart-inspired setup.
“I’m unbelievably proud of what the team has accomplished over the past few weeks,” Stephane Tetrault, owner of EB Games, says. “Bringing back midnight launches and organizing the race weekend event showcases our commitment to our community and our passion for gaming.”
