Nintendo fans in Canada are gearing up for the official launch of the new Nintendo Switch 2, set for midnight on June 5, 2025.
To celebrate, Nintendo of Canada is hosting a launch event at EB Games Canada (formerly GameStop) at 267 Yonge Street in Toronto, kicking off at 10:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, June 4.
Attendees will be among the first to grab the upgraded console, which features a larger and more vibrant 7.9-inch screen, faster performance, and new Joy-Con 2 controllers that attach magnetically and can even function as a mouse in supported games.
The event will include trivia, free giveaways (while supplies last), and a crowd countdown to midnight. YouTuber and gaming host Shark will be on hand to MC, and both Nintendo of Canada’s VP Susan Pennefather and EB Games President Jim Tyo will attend and be available for interviews.
The Nintendo Switch 2 marks Nintendo’s long awaited next-gen console and fans are expected to line up early to be first in line. The Switch 2 starts from $629.99 in Canada and the bundle with Mario Kart World is $699.99. You’re going to have to open your wallet to play with this next-gen Switch.
