Snapchat Apple Watch App Brings Quick Replies on the Go
Snap has officially introduced a dedicated Snapchat app for Apple Watch, enabling users to preview and respond to messages directly from their wrists.

The new watchOS app allows users to:
- Preview Incoming Messages: Quickly glance at new messages without needing to access your iPhone.
- Respond Using Multiple Input Methods: Reply through the Apple Watch’s keyboard, Scribble function, voice dictation converted to text, or by sending emojis.
While the app doesn’t support viewing photos or videos, it facilitates swift text-based interactions, making it convenient for users to stay connected during activities like workouts or meetings.
Snapchat’s introduction of an Apple Watch app comes at a time when several major companies, including Instagram, Slack, Lyft, Uber, Amazon, Trello, and Evernote, have discontinued their Apple Watch support. By contrast, Snapchat is doubling down on its multi-platform strategy, ensuring users can access the app across mobile, web, tablets, and now wearables.
“The number of devices we use in our daily lives has grown,” Snap stated in its announcement. “Already we’re seeing our community enjoy using Snapchat across surfaces including tablet and web, in addition to mobile.”

To download and install Snapchat on Apple Watch:
- Make sure your Apple Watch is running watchOS 9.0 or later.
- Download and install the Snapchat app from the App Store on your iPhone.
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, navigate to ‘My Watch,’ scroll down to ‘Available Apps,’ and tap ‘Install’ next to Snapchat.
- In the Watch app, go to ‘Notifications,’ find Snapchat, and select ‘Mirror my iPhone’ to receive alerts on your watch.
The addition of Snapchat to Apple Watch is particularly beneficial for users who are on the move or prefer minimal disruptions during their daily activities.
