Xbox Games Showcase and Outer Worlds 2 Direct Airs June 8, Here’s How to Watch

Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase is being held this weekend. Off the heels of Summer Game Fest, the Xbox Games Showcase will be home to many announcements from Xbox Game Studios as well as third-party publishers.
First revealed back in April, the Xbox Games Showcase will be held as a live-streamed event. As announced, it’ll include “a look at upcoming titles from across our first-party studios, in addition to incredible new titles from our third-party partners across the globe.” Xbox has not indicated how long the live stream will be, nor which partnering studios will be taking part in the event.
Following the core Xbox Games Showcase event, a special Direct will be held for the upcoming game The Outer Worlds 2. This format has been done in previous years, such as 2023’s Starfield Direct and last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct.
The Direct for The Outer Worlds will give studio Obsidian Entertainment a chance to do a deep dive on their upcoming sci-fi RPG ahead of its launch later this year. The Outer Worlds 2 Direct is said to offer “new gameplay, details, and developer insights.” Seeing as though the game doesn’t have a release date in place, it’s likely we’ll get one during the showcase. Obsidian Entertainment is, of course, already having a busy year. The studio has already released Avowed back in February.
As for other titles likely to appear, we already know that Ninja Gaiden 4, developed by Platinum Games, is on its way this fall. Gears of War: Reloaded is also on its way this August on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Many Xbox Game Studios titles could appear, such as Fable, State of Decay 3, Perfect Dark, Clockwork Revolution, or Contraband.
Naturally, there will be a ton of Xbox Game Pass inclusions. Microsoft has a tendency to use its Xbox Games Showcase to boost the efforts of Xbox Game Pass, bringing its first-party titles to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on day one. There’ll also likely be many third-party inclusions throughout the show. Partnering publishers are still unknown, but keep an eye out for plenty of surprises.
The Xbox Games Showcase will kick off on Sunday, June 8th at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT. It’ll be live-streamed through Xbox’s official channels, including YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook. The Xbox Games Showcase will be available in over 40 languages and will support American Sign Language, British Sign Language, and English Audio Descriptions.
