Instagram Will Let You Rearrange Profile Posts for the First Time

Instagram is finally giving users more control over their profiles—with the long-awaited ability to rearrange grid posts for the first time. This is a big finally.
The feature, now in testing, lets users reorder the layout of their posts on their profile page. This is what people have wanted for years as a way to better curate how their content is displayed.
Alongside grid editing, Instagram is also experimenting with “quiet posting,” which allows users to upload without alerting followers via their feed. The idea is to take the pressure off public sharing and make it easier to post casually or experiment with new ideas.
Trial Reels, another new feature, gives creators the option to share videos to non-followers first. Instagram says creators who tried it were more likely to post again—and saw a jump in reach.
The platform’s editing app, Edits, is also getting a boost with a new AI-powered tool that quickly changes the style of your videos.
All of these updates are part of Instagram’s bigger push to support creativity without the stress—especially as the app marks its 15th year.
“The willingness of people like you to make something and share it with the world is what makes Instagram work. There is so much creativity on the platform, and we’re committed to doing more to support people taking creative chances,” concluded Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, on Thursday.
