Meta Debuts AI Video Editing With One‑Tap Prompts

Meta has launched a new AI-powered video editing feature that allows users to transform short videos using pre-set creative styles. The tool is now available through the Meta AI mobile app, the Meta.AI website, and a dedicated Edits app.

Meta AI Video Edit.

The feature is designed to make video editing more accessible and visually compelling, especially for users who want to create shareable clips for platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

Meta says the tool focuses on editing the first 10 seconds of a video, which is the sweet spot for grabbing attention in a fast-paced digital world. Instead of manually trimming or adding effects, users can simply choose from more than 50 built-in AI prompts that apply artistic filters and imaginative transformations to their clips.

From anime-inspired visuals and graphic novel overlays to dreamy landscapes and surreal sci-fi aesthetics, the range of styles is diverse and tailored for social sharing.

Meta is offering the tool free of charge for a limited time, giving creators and casual users alike the opportunity to explore AI-generated editing without needing any technical background. Once edited, the videos can be shared directly to Facebook or Instagram, or featured on the Discover feed inside Meta’s AI platforms.

Early reviews of the editor suggest that the results can be both stunning and surprising. In one test, a simple video of someone walking their dog was reimagined as a vivid desert landscape with purple cacti and glowing effects. Another user saw their video transformed into a neon-drenched vampire anime scene, complete with surreal lighting and dramatic motion.

Meta plans to expand the tool’s capabilities later this year, including the much-anticipated option to generate edits using fully custom text prompts. That upgrade would allow users to describe any scene or style they want, taking creative control even further.
