Fallout Shelter Has Been Downloaded 230 Million Times

Bethesda Game Studios and Behaviour Interactive are celebrating the 10th anniversary of Fallout Shelter, which first debuted on iOS on June 14th, 2015.

Bethesda Game Studios revealed that Fallout Shelter has exceeded 230 million downloads across all platforms. Over 10 years, Fallout Shelter has grown and expanded far beyond what it originally was when it released on iOS. Bethesda Game Studios and Behaviour Interactive ported the game to platforms such as Android, Steam, Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox.

On top of announcing such a milestone, Bethesda Game Studios and Behaviour Interactive are hosting in-game rewards for players.  This week, you can log in and collect rewards as a thank you to the community. Starting now, players can don the Pip-Boy once more in Fallout Shelter and unlock a variety of rewards to assist in building their shelters. Log in every few days from now until June 21st to join in on the 10th anniversary celebration.

“Whether you’ve been with us all along or you’re new to the party, now is a great time to head into the wasteland and start building,” the studio says.

Here are the in-game rewards available to unlock (mobile platforms only):

  • Lunchbox x2, Pet Carrier x1, Nuka x10 (June 16 – June 17)
  • Lunchbox x3, Mr. Handy x1, Nuka x15 (June 18 – June 19)
  • Lunchbox x5, Pet Carrier x1, Nuka x20 (June 20 – June 21)

The game has also received numerous updates over the last decade. The most recent major update followed after the premiere of the Fallout adaptation on Prime Video. To celebrate the series, Fallout Shelter added Lucy and The Ghoul as unlockable vault dwellers. Players also gained access to 8 new quests and locations. Fallout Shelter also introduced new themes, weapons and outfits featured in the show.
