Public Mobile Hikes Canada–US–Mexico Plan Prices Ahead of Summer
Back on Friday, we told you Telus-owned Public Mobile updated its website with an end date on its Canada-US-Mexico promo plans, set to end on June 16.
Fast forward to today, and Public Mobile has indeed updated its website with changes on these 5G plans, in the form of price increases.
While 4G plans saw no changes, 5G plans with Canada-US-Mexico roaming saw price increases ranging from $1 to $4 per month. International minutes have stuck around, however. Check out the changes below…
4G Plans (no changes)
5G Canada-US-Mexico
- $32/20GB (was $30/10GB; Canada-wide)
- $34/10GB + 250 International Minutes (was $30; up $4)
- $34/60GB + (Canada-wide) + 500 International Minutes
- $36/60GB + 1000 International Minutes (was $35; up $1)
- $46/80GB + 2000 International Minutes (was $45; up $1)
- $56/100GB + 2000 International Minutes (was $55; up $1)
Now, these changes come as we are nearing the end of the school year for most kids (next week for most across the country), and ahead of any summer travel plans. Not sure if there’s any relation, but the timing definitely sucks for new customers as they will be paying a bit more. Of course, the best time to get a cellphone plan deal is clearly Black Friday and around Boxing Day, as carriers fight for year-end sign ups.
