iPhone Battery Settlement Delayed in Canada—Check Your Claim Now
If you filed a claim in Canada’s iPhone battery class action back in April of 2024, you’ll have to keep waiting for your payout.
According to a new update posted June 23, 2025, the claims review process is now complete. However, approved payments aren’t expected to go out until later this year—with no specific timeline given.
An email sent to an iPhone in Canada reader by the settlement team confirmed the delay, stating:
“We are nearing completion of the claims review process. At this time, we cannot provide anything more specific than the end of 2025.”
Several readers checking their claim status via the official chatbot report being told:
“Based on the information you provided we were unable to locate an approved claim. This may mean your claim was reviewed and determined to be ineligible and therefore rejected under the terms of the settlement, or that it was not received.”
This has raised concerns among claimants who received confirmation emails when submitting their claims. One reader told us all of their submitted claims—despite having email confirmations—were either rejected or couldn’t be found in the system.
If this happens to you, you’re advised to contact the Claims Administrator at De******@*****************************nt.ca before July 23, 2025. If you don’t contest the decision by then, it will be considered final with no possibility of appeal.
The class action lawsuit accused Apple of slowing down older iPhones through software updates without properly informing users. It covered Canadians who owned the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7, or 7 Plus with specific versions of iOS installed before December 21, 2017.
Apple agreed to pay between $11.1 million and $14.4 million CAD to settle the case. The court approved the settlement in March 2024. The deadline to submit claims has now passed.
You can check the status of your iPhone class action claim here and clicking on the chatbot icon on the right side of the screen (click the left/right arrow icons to see more options when chatting). You’ll need your claim number and iPhone serial number, both located in the PDF confirmation (sent to your email) when you submitted your claim.

Was this all a scam? I submitted 3 phones all receiving a receipt acknowledgement. Not one was approved.
yeah it's really weird seeing claims not approved
I'm in the exact same boat – submitted 3 legitimate claims – all rejected.
3 claims. All were approved…
Just checked, both claims approved.
lol I feel we need a class action against this law firm. How much of this delay is them billing "hours" payable by the settlement funds while doing nothing? Now valid claims denied or lost "whooopsieee"
I can't even send a message? It keeps on saying message failed to send
4 100% legitimate claims – all were rejected. These scumbag lawyers are up to something and I will be damned if I am going to let them get away with this. I have never seen this before in any other class action lawsuit…typical of pothead BC shysters
I had 3 of my affected devices rejected.
