Apple Music Turns 10, Opens New Artist Studio in LA

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Apple Music has launched a massive new creative studio in Los Angeles, built for artists to record, perform, and connect with fans. The space will also support Apple Music Radio, which is marking the milestone with a week of special programming.
“Apple Music Radio has always been a home for storytelling and artistry, serving as a space for bold conversations and surprising moments,” said Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s co-head, in a statement on Monday. “With this new studio, we are furthering our commitment to creating a space for artists to create, connect, and share their vision.”
The new three-storey, 15,000-square-foot facility includes two radio studios, a soundstage for performances, a Spatial Audio mixing room, photo and content creation spaces, and private booths for songwriting or podcast interviews.
Apple says the studio is designed to support artists at all levels, helping them create and share music and stories in new ways. It’s the latest addition to Apple’s growing network of music hubs, which already includes locations in New York, Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, and Nashville.

A week of anniversary programming is airing now on Apple Music Radio, featuring longtime hosts Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden alongside special guests. On June 30, a full-day broadcast looked back at Apple Music’s biggest artist moments, surprise performances, and exclusive releases.
More specials will follow, including a countdown of the top 500 most-streamed songs in Apple Music history, finishing July 5 with the top 100.
Apple is also launching “Replay All Time,” a new feature that lets subscribers see and play the songs they’ve listened to most since joining the service. It’s available now in the Apple Music app.
Hard to believe it’s been 10 years of Apple Music. We’re still waiting for better playlists and the ability to listen to playlists created by others like Spotify.
