Rogers Pulls the Plug on Shaw’s Website: End of an Era

shaw rogers website

The Shaw.ca website has officially been shut down and folded into Rogers.com, marking another step in Rogers’ full takeover of Shaw after their merger in April 2023.

One year after the merger, Rogers said it expanded 5G to over 150 communities, added high-speed internet to 90,000 more homes, and moved Shaw Mobile customers over to its 5G network.

“We increased competition and choice by introducing bundled internet and mobile phone plans in the West. In the past year alone, wireless prices in Canada have come down 26% while other goods and services have gone up with inflation,” touted Rogers last year.

Anyone trying to visit Shaw’s old site is now redirected to Rogers, where all products, support pages, and services are housed under one brand. The change affects customers who were previously using the ‘Rogers Together With Shaw’ branding — they’ll now find everything under the Rogers name.

Apps and tools are also getting rebranded. For example, the “My Shaw” app is now called “MyRogers (Shaw),” though login details and functionality remain the same.

It’s the end of an era. Shaw’s identity online is essentially gone. Customers looking for help or to manage their account must now use Rogers.com, which also hosts community forums and chat support—but posting requires a Rogers account.

Earlier this year, the Rogers-Shaw merger was called a ‘consumer disaster’ by consumer advocates OpenMedia.

The merger continues to blend the two companies under one name, and Shaw’s standalone web presence is now a thing of the past.

Thanks Rahul

How do people with separate rogers mobility and Shaw home services sign in now then?

Now maybe hire some operators! Since the takeover it's been nothing but crappy service.

Hire??? The rogers board was hostilely taken over and the idiot brother put his penny pinching CFO lackey in charge. They are only going to continue to fire even more people and replace them with garbage AI. Soon we will yearn for the days of off shore support agents, if you can believe it.

How do I sign in now if shaw is done, to my rogers?

The removal of anything Shaw related made it an absolute nightmare trying to find instructions to do a factory reset on my parents misbehaving Shaw remote. I found a Shaw support article on Google fairly quickly, but the link now redirects to a generic Rogers support portal. I wouldn't have cared if they replaced all of the Shaw branding, but they should have kept the articles and their content intact.

Maybe next Rogers can integrate Shaw customer support so we don't keep getting routed to a nonexistent customer support team.

They're just making sure you get the service you're used to getting. Clearly you were fine with a nonexistent customer support team before the merger…
