WhatsApp is rolling out new features to make it easier for businesses to reach customers, manage campaigns, and offer support—all from one place.

Announced at Meta’s Conversations 2025 conference in Miami on July 1, the updates focus on making WhatsApp more useful for marketing and customer service.

Businesses can now manage ads across WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram using Meta’s Ads Manager. That means one place to create campaigns, set budgets, and upload subscriber lists. Meta says AI tools like Advantage+ will help businesses automatically choose where to show ads and how to spend their budget. Ads in WhatsApp Status are also coming soon (ads!).

WhatsApp is testing AI tools that can help businesses respond to customers, suggest products, and even follow up on website orders. The AI can chat directly with users in WhatsApp to answer questions or send updates, which as you can imagine is incredibly useful. These AI helpers will soon expand to more businesses in Mexico.

Larger companies using the WhatsApp Business Platform will soon be able to receive phone and video calls from customers — or call them back if requested. Voice messages are also coming, which could be helpful for things like customer support or virtual health appointments.
