Elon’s CEO Pick Quits: Linda Yaccarino Leaves X After 2 Years
Linda Yaccarino has announced she is stepping down as CEO of X, after nearly two years in the role.
In a post on X (of course) she said leading the company was “the opportunity of a lifetime” and thanked Elon Musk for choosing her to help reshape the company into what they’ve called the “Everything App.” She also credited the team for helping turn the business around.
“I’m incredibly proud of the X team – the historic business turn around we have accomplished together has been nothing short of remarkable,” she said.
“We started with the critical early work necessary to prioritize the safety of our users—especially children, and to restore advertiser confidence. This team has worked relentlessly from groundbreaking innovations like Community Notes, and, soon, X Money to bringing the most iconic voices and content to the platform. Now, the best is yet to come as X enters a new chapter with @xai.”
Musk replied to Yaccarino today with, “Thank you for your contributions.”
She ended her message by calling X a “digital town square” and said she’ll “see you on X.”
For now, it’s unclear who the next CEO of X will be. The app remains the top news app download in the App Store.

She has really humiliated herself and tarnished her legacy over the past 2 years. Very sad.
