Elon Musk’s xAI to Launch Grok 4 on July 9

Elon Musk has officially announced the launch date for Grok 4, the latest version of xAI’s conversational AI, with a livestream scheduled for Wednesday, July 9 at 8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ET. Musk made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, simply posting: “Grok 4 release livestream on Wednesday at 8pm PT.”

While specific details about Grok 4’s feature set remain under wraps ahead of its debut, expectations are high given the rapid evolution of xAI’s models. Grok 4 is expected to build upon the already-impressive capabilities of its predecessor, with enhanced reasoning, improved conversational flow, and more advanced integration with X and other apps.

The Grok AI chatbot series has seen a meteoric rise since its inception. Grok 3, released in February, made headlines after its debut during a live demo hosted by Musk himself. It quickly became known as the “smartest AI yet,” surpassing competitors in benchmarks and user engagement. Shortly after its release, Grok 3 was made free for all, propelling it to the top of app store charts in Canada and several other countries.

Since then, Grok has continued expanding its reach. In May, popular messaging platform Telegram announced a partnership with xAI to integrate Grok directly into its app, potentially bringing the AI assistant to over a billion users worldwide.

With Grok 4’s release just around the corner, all eyes are on xAI to see how it plans to push the boundaries of large language models once again. Given Grok’s history of rapid advancements and Musk’s ambitious AI roadmap, the upcoming update is likely to mark another major leap forward for the platform.
