Apples Sues Jon Prosser for Alleged Theft of iOS 26 Leaks

Apple has sued leaker Jon Prosser over the alleged theft of secrets and leaks related to iOS 26. Apple accuses Prosser of working with Michael Ramacciotti, accessing an Apple employee’s development iPhone, and accessing information regarding planned changes to iOS 26.
As the lawsuit details (reported by MacRumors), Apple believes Prosser offered Ramacciotti “money or a future job opportunity” to work with him and access a company phone belonging to Ramacciotti’s friend. The friend in question is claimed to be Ethan Lipnik, an Apple software engineer who works on iOS software.
It’s said that Ramacciotti is alleged to have accessed Lipnik’s iPhone passcode and used “location-tracking” in order to figure out how long Lipnik would be away from home. Ramacciotti is alleged to have then accessed the iPhone running a dev version of iOS 26. It’s also claimed that Ramacciotti and Prosser shared a video call, where the software was shown. Prosser is believed to have recorded the call, shared it with others and used it to create renders.
Details of this exchange are claimed to have been brought to Apple’s attention in April. The iPhone maker supposedly received an anonymous email from someone claiming to have seen the recording between Ramacciotti and Prosser’s video. Recognizing Lipnik’s apartment in the video, the anonymous person then reached out to Apple. It’s also alleged that a voice note sent by Ramacciotti to Lipnik sees the former apologize to the latter, as Lipnik was ultimately fired by Apple for failing to follow security policies regarding unreleased software.
Prosser has responded to the lawsuit on X (formerly Twitter). He claimed that Apple’s recounting of the events is “not how the situation played out on my end.” The leaker states, “I did not ‘plot’ to access anyone’s phone. I did not have any passwords. I was unaware of how the information was obtained.” Prosser also says that he is “Looking forward to speaking with Apple on this.”
Over the months, Prosser has published videos regarding software details on iOS 26. One of which is a video published in April, covering the Liquid Glass UI. Prosser is a well-known leaker, gaining a ton of notoriety for his accuracy.

I guess this is probably why he and Sam Khol abruptly stopped doing The Genius Bar Podcast.
Let us take a moment of silence for the aborted iOS 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 that never saw the light of day, nor will they ever.
