AppleCare One Expands to the UK, France, Germany, and Australia

Apple is expanding its AppleCare One insurance package to four new countries. Expanding from the US, AppleCare One will be available in the UK, France, Germany, and Australia starting August 4th.

Following one year of service in the US, AppleCare One will soon be available in the four new countries mentioned above. Users in the UK, France, Germany, and Australia can package up to three products together, covering them all from loss and accidental damage for a bundled price.

For a monthly subscription (based on regional pricing), AppleCare One protects up to three devices with the ability to add more at any time for additional fees. Under AppleCare One, users get protection against theft and loss for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. AppleCare One also provides unlimited repairs for accidental damage, free battery replacement and priority Apple support.

AppleCare One subscribers can make up to three claims of theft or loss per year.

“At Apple, we’re focused on creating and delivering exceptional experiences,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, in a press release. “With AppleCare One, customers in the UK can now enjoy the trusted protection of AppleCare+ in a way that’s simpler and more flexible than ever before — one plan, one price, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing all their eligible products can be covered.”

AppleCare One has distinct advantages, especially for those with multiple Apple devices. In the US, the insurance protection starts at $19.99 USD (about $27 CAD) per month. This gives users options instead of subscribing to AppleCare+, which covers a single device. Apple claims users can save around $11 USD per month instead of covering an  iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch individually.

With the latest expansion, it begs the question of whether AppleCare One will arrive in Canada in the foreseeable future. Currently, Canadian users aiming to protect their devices must subscribe to AppleCare+. Recently, Apple increased the price of AppleCare+ in Canada for iPad and Mac.
