The Biggest Annoucements From Today’s Pokémon Presents

Today’s Pokémon Presents revealed new games as well as updates to fan-favourites, including many mobile titles. Standouts from today’s live stream include Pokémon Champions and the reveal of Pokémon Friends.

The 20-minute live stream was bolstered by a deeper dive into Pokémon Champions, the previously announced battle game for mobile and Nintendo Switch. Linking with Pokémon Home, players can bring over their favourite Pokémon, recruit them to a team and take them into battle. Players can engage in single or double battles against two opponents. The game operates similarly to Pokémon Stadium. However, players will have the opportunity to train their Pokémonahead of battles.

Pokémon Champions launches sometime in 2026.

The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Friends, a new free-to-play mobile game that launches today. Available on the App Store and Play Store, Pokémon Friends is a “plush-filled puzzle game packed with charming challenges.” The game includes 1,200 puzzles, ranging from brainteasers to more difficult puzzles to complete. Each day, players can log in, complete puzzles and earn stamps on their calendar. The game also allows players to decorate their own plush rooms with wallpaper and furniture.

Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu, developed by Aardman Animations, got its first official teaser. Made in collaboration with the makers behind Wallace and Gromit, this animated series will debut sometime in 2027.

As expected, Pokémon Legends Z-A was also given some time in the spotlight once again. A new trailer, showcasing the game’s story. Set in Lumiose City, players will meet new characters and journey through the city, capturing Pokémon throughout the day and night. Pokémon Legends Z-A launches on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16. It’s also been announced that a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle with the full game download for Pokémon Legends Z-A will be made available on October 16 for $699 in Canada.

Other notable news and updates include a new look at the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet updates on Nintendo Switch 2, including enhancements to performance. New Tera Raids will also begin on July 23. In Pokémon Masters EX, Carmine and Sinistcha are arriving on July 29. In September, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune all arrive in Pokémon Sleep.
