Meta Enterprise Platform Launches to Take On Microsoft, Salesforce

Mark Zuckerberg wants Meta to be far more than just a place for social media and consumer technology. The tech giant has officially announced the launch of the Meta Enterprise Platform, marking a major strategic expansion aimed directly at the corporate market.

The initiative represents a full-fledged push into enterprise software, positioning Meta to compete alongside established cloud and enterprise heavyweights like Microsoft, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.

According to Zuckerberg, the new business pillar is designed to help organizations integrate artificial intelligence across their daily operations. The company plans to leverage its existing infrastructure and artificial intelligence models to deliver commercial services directly to businesses and software developers.

“We believe superintelligence will create significant new opportunities for all people and businesses,” Zuckerberg stated regarding the launch. “Meta already serves billions of people at scale and helps hundreds of millions of businesses reach customers. Today we are starting the next major pillar of our business, Meta Enterprise Platform, to help businesses use AI to grow and transform in new ways as well.”

To drive this ambitious enterprise expansion, Meta hired Chirantan “CJ” Desai as its Chief Enterprise Platform Officer. Reporting directly to Zuckerberg, Desai brings decades of enterprise experience to the role. He recently served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of database giant MongoDB. Prior to that, Desai led product and engineering teams at Cloudflare.

“Over the coming years, AI will fundamentally redefine how organizations of all sizes innovate, grow, serve customers, and run business operations,” Desai said. “Meta Enterprise Platform will focus on turning its AI stack into products and services that companies can deploy for their own businesses.”

The Meta Enterprise Platform brings together several of the company’s recent AI technologies into a unified corporate offering. The platform package includes the Muse agent framework, the Meta Business Agent system, the Muse API, and Muse Code development utilities.

Together, these tools allow companies to build automated workflows, deploy autonomous AI agents for customer service, and integrate customized software tools into their existing data pipelines.
