Adobe Rolls Out AI‑Driven Photoshop Upgrades
Adobe has rolled out a set of new Photoshop enhancements that aim to streamline complex editing tasks, with AI tools like Harmonize, Generative Upscale, and natural language editing to speed up workflows on all devices.

One of the standout features is Harmonize, a new AI-powered tool currently in public beta. It automatically matches the colors, lighting, and shadows of a newly added element to the rest of the image, creating a seamless blend.
Whether combining a desert background with underwater scenery or integrating a new object into a complex scene, Harmonize removes much of the manual adjustment work that professionals have long had to perform. Adobe says this tool will be particularly useful for designers and photographers who often combine elements from different sources.
Another key addition is Generative Upscale, now available on both desktop and web versions of Photoshop. This feature can increase image resolution up to eight megapixels without sacrificing clarity or introducing unwanted artifacts. It’s aimed at users who want to prepare older, lower-resolution images for print or bring extra sharpness to visuals for social media and professional projects.
Adobe is also bringing significant improvements to its core editing capabilities. The new Select Details function refines object selection for complex subjects such as hair or fine textures, while Adjust Colors allows for quick changes in hue, saturation, and brightness without navigating through multiple panels.
A new Actions panel, also in beta, lets users type natural language commands such as “brighten image” or “remove background,” which Photoshop executes automatically.

Performance enhancements are another part of the release. Adobe reports notable speed improvements across devices, with some workflows running several times faster than before. The company says these optimizations are aimed at keeping creators in the flow of their work, whether on a high-end desktop setup or editing on an iPad while traveling.
Adobe has also integrated support for select third-party AI models, including offerings from OpenAI and Google, giving users more flexibility while ensuring commercial safety through licensing and content verification.
