Rogers Roaming Price Hikes Now Live—Here’s What It’ll Cost You

Rogers and Fido customers travelling outside Canada will now pay more to use their phones, as the latest Roam Like Home price hike has officially gone into effect today, August 7, 2025.

As previously reported, daily roaming rates are now $16/day for the U.S. and $18/day for international travel, according to the Rogers and Fido websites. That’s up from $14 and $16, respectively—marking the second roaming price increase in less than six months.

Here’s how Rogers’ Roam Like Home pricing has changed this year:

  • February 2025: $12/day (U.S.), $15/day (International)
  • March 2025: $14/day (U.S.), $16/day (International)
  • August 2025: $16/day (U.S.), $18/day (International)

That’s a 14% increase for U.S. roaming and 13% for international, compared to earlier this year.

Roam Like Home lets Rogers and Fido customers use their existing wireless plan while travelling. But at $16–18 per day, costs can add up quickly for longer trips. When the service launched in November 2014, U.S. roaming was just $5/day.

For context, here’s how Rogers now compares to Telus and Bell (cross your fingers that they don’t match Rogers):

  • Telus: $14/day (U.S.), $16/day (International)
  • Bell: $13/day (U.S.), $16/day (International)

Rogers is now the most expensive of the Big 3 for both U.S. and international roaming. As for options if you don’t want to use Roam Like Home for US and International travel? eSIM options are available from services llike Saily and Airalo. Freedom Mobile recently launched an eSIM that anyone can use.

Rogers can do what they want. By October of this year they'll have lost 4 accounts, 3 already gone. Freedom is $45/m which includes Unlimited talk/ text pictures and 10GB data when roaming.
