Apple Vision Pro with M5 Chip Set to Release By Year End
Apple is preparing Vision Pro with an M5 chip for enhanced performance and efficiency for a late 2025 launch in a largely unchanged design, as reported by MacRumors citing leaked Apple code.

This also settles previous disagreement between credible industry sources. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had originally predicted the M5 chip, whereas Mark Gurman from Bloomberg expected only M4.
Chain experts suggest that this upgrade may roll out as early as late 2025. The internal code offers no indication of a redesigned housing or overhaul of its physical form but points instead to a focus on the upgraded processor. A more comfortable strap may be the only noticeable physical change, pointing to a subtle evolution rather than a radical redesign.
Replacing the current M2 chip with the next generation M5 promises a substantial leap in graphics and compute capabilities. This could translate into enhanced spatial computing features lower latency and improved battery life. Reports indicate the same bulky form factor will remain, but users will benefit from the M5’s increased power and thermal efficiency.
This performance boost may well empower visionOS with smoother multitasking faster app loading and robust support for high fidelity experiences. Existing limitations when running multiple windows simultaneously could be minimized by the added horsepower.
Apple’s spatial computing hardware could also open doors for console grade gaming. Support for Sony’s PSVR2 sense controllers hints that the M5 could finally give Vision Pro the performance needed for AAA calibre titles.

This chip upgrade aligns with a broader wave of hardware improvements across Apple’s product ecosystem. Leaked code suggests iPad Mini may receive an A19 Pro chip while Apple TV could upgrade to A17 Pro and HomePod mini might adopt a next gen SiP design.
