Everything New in visionOS 26 for Apple Vision Pro Users

Unveiled at WWDC 2025, the latest software update for Apple Vision Pro brings major new features—from floating widgets and lifelike Personas to spatial scenes powered by AI. There’s even support for PlayStation VR2 controllers and immersive 360° video.
Here’s a full breakdown of what’s new in visionOS 26 (if you can afford a $5,000 Vision Pro in Canada, right?):
Spatial Widgets That Live in Your Space
Widgets in visionOS are now spatial objects that appear in your environment. You can customize their size, color, and depth, and they’ll reappear whenever you wear Vision Pro.
- Works with Clock, Weather, Music, Photos, and more
- Widgets can include panoramas, live music controls, or calendar views
- WidgetKit now supports third-party widget development

More Realistic Personas
Apple’s digital avatars (Personas) now look far more natural with better rendering of hair, skin, lashes, and facial details. You can even preview side profiles and pick from 1,000+ glasses options.
AI-Powered Spatial Scenes
Your flat photos can now gain depth and realism using Apple’s generative AI. Spatial Scenes let you lean in and view your photos from different angles, making them feel alive.
- Supported in the Photos app, Safari, and Spatial Gallery
- Developers like Zillow are already using the new API
Shared Spatial Experiences
Users in the same room with Apple Vision Pro can now experience content together—watch a 3D movie, play a game, or collaborate in real time. Remote users can still join in via FaceTime.
PlayStation VR2 Controller Support
You can now connect a PlayStation VR2 Sense controller to Apple Vision Pro. This opens the door to more complex spatial games with:
- 6DoF motion tracking
- Finger touch detection
- Vibration feedback
Spatial Browsing in Safari
Articles and websites can now come alive with embedded 3D models and immersive spatial views. Web developers can let you view and manipulate 3D objects right from the browser.
Native 360° and 180° Video Support
visionOS 26 supports playback of immersive content from Insta360, GoPro, and Canon, offering wide field-of-view experiences in full spatial surround.
Look to Scroll
A new eye-tracking feature lets users scroll apps and webpages using just their eyes. You can customize scroll speed and developers can integrate this into apps.
