PlayStation State of Play Returns Sept. 3 with 007 First Light Reveal
Sony PlayStation and developer IO Interactive have announced a new deep look at ‘007 First Light’ that will be revealed in a special State of Play livestream set for September 3.

Fans can tune in for more than 30 minutes of fresh gameplay on official PlayStation Twitch and YouTube broadcasts beginning at 11 am Pacific time.
This upcoming presentation will allow viewers to step into the world of a younger Bond in his first mission as a newly recruited 00 agent. That mission sequence promises a pulse a racing mix of high speed car pursuits stealth driven on foot infiltration and intense shootouts.
This follows the June State of Play reveal where the reveal trailer introduced this reimagined origin story of Bond. That teaser offered a glimpse of IO Interactive’s distinct, stylish vision for the classic character. Now with the full State of Play session incoming, players will see how stealth gadgetry car chases and cinematic action come together in gameplay.
007 First Light represents a bold new spin on the Bond saga as it delves into how James Bond earns the license to kill. In the game he appears as a 26 year old former Royal Navy recruit thrust into MI6 training and given a mission that will determine whether he earns his 00 status.
The narrative features familiar MI6 characters including M Q and Moneypenny alongside fresh faces like Greenway who will guide Bond through his early dossier.

IO Interactive is drawing upon its expertise from the Hitman series to craft a sophisticated espionage experience where players can tackle challenges quietly camouflage with gadgets or escalate into full scale confrontation.
The game will launch in 2026 across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms.
