Threads Users Can Now Add Up to 10,000 Characters to Posts
Threads has just introduced a new feature that lets users add text blocks of up to 10,000 characters to a post, with formatting options and expandable view inside the app.

Instead of posting as a string of short updates or resorting to screenshots, users can now attach expansive content directly to their Threads.
The new capability launches with a simple icon in the post composer. A rounded rectangle icon invites users to open a mini word editor where they can type away freely and use formatting options like bold, italics, underlines, and strikethroughs.
Once published, it appears as a compact block under the main post. When someone taps this block it expands revealing the full content in place. If the original post contains a link, that link also appears in the expanded view making it easy to share previews or excerpts that direct readers onward.
This update opens up new ways for creative expression. Writers can tease novel segments, journalists can highlight thoughtful pieces, and creators can share deeper perspectives without sending followers off the app. Meta says the feature is a part of its mission to enhance how communities connect and creators express themselves within Threads.

Reports earlier this year showed that Meta had been testing similar functionality under the name text attachment on iOS devices. Unlike X’s articles feature, which is limited to premium users, Threads offers this tool to all users.
Currently only text is supported with no images or video allowed in the attachments but Meta may expand that in future updates.
