Gmail Adding Better Package Tracking and Smarter Promos Tab

Google is rolling out new Gmail features ahead of the holiday shopping season, according to Chris Doan, Director, Gmail, on Thursday.
The first change is a new Purchases view, which collects all your receipts and delivery updates in one spot. Instead of digging through your inbox, you’ll see a list of packages and when they’re expected to arrive. Orders scheduled to show up within 24 hours will still be pinned at the top of your inbox. This update is launching now on both web and mobile for personal Gmail accounts.

The second change affects Gmail’s Promotions tab (well, these are mostly sponsored ads). Emails will soon be sorted by “most relevant,” meaning messages from brands you interact with the most will show up higher. Google says this will also highlight upcoming deals and limited-time offers. If you’d rather stick with the old way, you can still choose to sort by “most recent.”
Both updates are rolling out worldwide in the coming weeks.
