Apple pre-orders are live right now as of 5am PT/8am ET and once again there is an option to reserve the iPhone configuration you want, then pick it up at your local Apple Store. The difference this time around? You need to pay upfront online and not at the time of in-store pick up.
For the iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air, all you have to do during check out is enter in your postal code and you’ll see an option to “pick it up at an Apple Store near” you. As of writing, only the super expensive configurations or those that are still in stock are showing availability for a September 19 launch day pick up (such as the 2TB iPhone 17 Pro Max that will cost over $3,000 CAD after tax):
Benefits of doing this? You don’t have to wait at home by the door for UPS or miss a delivery. You can just head to your local Apple Store and pick up your shiny iPhone there.

Glad there is in-store pick up.
I don't trust UPS (in Ottawa) because it takes awhile to deliver at my house. It's nice that it is there on the day of but the drivers seem to stall and have to wait a bit longer.
