iPhone 17 Pre-Orders: Costco Is Cheaper Than Apple in Canada

Tomorrow morning is Apple’s pre-orders for the iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air. But if you’re looking to get the lowest possible price for your new shiny and expensive iPhone, you might want to take a look at Costco Canada.

According to an email received by iPhone in Canada, the big box retailer will also launch iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air pre-orders on Friday, September 12, at 5am PT/8am ET (just like Apple).

As for pricing? Costco Canada has undercut Apple.ca pricing by a whopping $10 off for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air. While you might not get your iPhone 17 series as fast as Apple.ca, you can leverage any Costco gift cards you have lying around for your online pre-order.

Costco.ca also has pre-orders available for the new Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3 and SE 3, which are also cheaper than Apple Canada—but by one penny. Also available are AirPods Pro 3 for pre-order.

There’s a trade-in program that gives you a Costco Shop card for your old Apple product, with the program powered by partner Phobio.

Benefits of buying from Costco? You get a longer 90 day return policy on electronics, so you could try out your new iPhone for longer compared to Apple. Don’t forget Executive memberships get 2% back, so buying a 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max at $1749 means you get about $35 back. Toss in the $10 savings, you’re already up $45 on your purchase.

In this economy, 10 bucks is 10 bucks. I’m not tipping Tim Apple

But you will pay you carrier $25 each time to resend you a new eSIM QR code? Yeah, that's about right how people think now.

Costco also discounts the AppleCare+ coverage, so it all adds up!

Their CIBC credit card also includes mobile device insurance on its own, so unless you break it more than once a year, I don’t even think AppleCare+ is worth it.

That's perfect. Abusers can return the iPhone 17 phones up to 90 days along with their portable air conditioner now that summer is over. They can realize what a PIA is it is not having a physical SIM slot.
