Apple Music Transfer Tool Now Available in All Countries

Apple Music is expanding access to its music transfer tool to all countries where the service is available. With access to this feature, users are able to simplify the transition away from Spotify to Apple Music.
Last month, the Apple Music transfer tool launched in Canada and eight other countries, including the US. That followed after its initial release in Australia and New Zealand. Now, it’s available worldwide, according to an Apple Support document. The only exception, per the company, is China Mainland, Myanmar and Russia.
The transfer tool is made in partnership with SongShift. With the transfer tool accessible, users can leverage their iPhone or iPad and navigate to the ‘Settings’ menu. From there, go to ‘Apps’ and ‘Music’. The ‘Transfer Music from Other Music Services’ option is accessible. Here, you’ll find a music service like Spotify to transfer from.
Apple Music is able to facilitate the transfer of saved songs, albums, and playlists. However, the extent ultimately depends on the service you’re transferring from. The Apple Music transfer tool is compatible with Spotify as well as Amazon, Deezer, Tidal, and YouTube.
In the event that a song is not accessible on Apple Music, the app will flag the song as ‘Needs Review’ and urge the user to select an alternate version of the track. However, not all content from a service like Spotify is available on Apple Music.
Additionally, some pieces of content, like playlists created by other users, aren’t eligible to be transferred. Only playlists created by the user can be transferred. Once the transfer is complete, all original songs and playlists from the sourced service remain unaffected.
