Apple has updated its free Apple Sports app, bringing new widgets to iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Fans can now pin scores and schedules for their favourite teams or entire leagues directly on their home screens. Widgets can be customized per device, and there’s no limit on how many can be added.

The update also lets users schedule Live Activities in advance for upcoming games, building on existing real-time score updates available on the iPhone Lock Screen and Apple Watch.

Apple Sports is also expanding its reach, launching in eight more countries: Austria, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. The app now covers additional European soccer leagues, including Germany’s 2. Bundesliga, France’s Ligue 2, Spain’s Segunda División, Italy’s Serie B, and Portugal’s Primeira Liga.

While this is a decent update for the Apple Sports app, it still is pales in comparison to an app like theScore, which basically covers everything and lets you set up custom alerts for players, teams, games and more.
