iPhone Air Bend Test Leaves JerryRigEverything Stunned [VIDEO]

The iPhone Air is Apple’s thinnest phone ever at just 5.6mm, sparking worries that it could be the next “bendgate”, reminding us of the days of the iPhone 6 (11 years ago!). YouTube tech device destroyer JerryRigEverything set out to answer that question in his signature torture test—and the results were surprising.
In the first bend attempt, Jerry applied pressure with his thumbs. The titanium frame flexed slightly but snapped right back into place, showing no permanent damage. When bent from the opposite side, the same thing happened—the phone curved under pressure but returned to its original shape.

To really push the limits, Jerry brought out a crane scale machine to measure exactly how much force it would take to break the Air. The phone started flexing at around 70 pounds of pressure, kept bending past 100 pounds, and still refused to give at 171 pounds. The screen stayed on through it all.
It wasn’t until the force hit about 216 pounds in the centre of the phone that the iPhone Air finally gave way. The front glass shattered near the bottom volume button, while the back glass panel stayed intact. Even then, the phone remained partially functional, proving just how tough titanium can be.
JerryRigEverything’s conclusion? The iPhone Air isn’t just thin—it’s nearly unbreakable in everyday use. He joked that if you’re worried about sitting on it, your pants would rip long before the phone does, unless you “have buns of steel.”
As for the JRE scratch test, the iPhone Air also showed improvements. Apple’s new Ceramic Shield 2 glass held up against level 6 and 7 picks better than previous iPhones, making scratches less likely in daily use. But glass is still glass, and Jerry reminded viewers that a screen protector is still smart to use. The titanium sides, while resistant, were still scratchable.
Other durability notes include slower charging speeds compared to the Pro models and weaker anti-reflective coating compared to Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Apple previously showed off how the iPhone Air can resist 130 pounds of bend pressure. So we knew the phone was going to be super strong. But not this strong!
Alright, we have to give Apple kudos on the iPhone Air’s durability. They made a phone that looks pretty indestructible despite its super-thin nature. It looks like the iPhone Air will only bend if you’re a big back and you sit on it (maybe):

It never fails me to see what these clowns will do to a new iphone, like people are going to spend for a thousand dollars and drop them from twelve feet in the air or bend them like a boomerang.
