Zelda II Joins Nintendo Music Library—But Pokémon Is Still Missing

Nintendo has added Zelda II: The Adventure of Link to its Nintendo Music app library, including both the NES and Famicom Disk System versions of the soundtrack.

Fans highlighted the iconic Palace theme, with one Reddit user calling it “so damn good.” The Famicom Disk System release features a slightly different encounter theme compared to the NES version. That variation later resurfaced in The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap as music for mini-boss battles.

This update also represents a milestone for Nintendo Music, as Zelda II is the 100th game to be added to the platform, according to one fan tracking the releases. Still, some fans expressed surprise that nearly a year after launch, the service has yet to include any pre-Switch Pokémon soundtracks.

The standalone Nintendo Music app for iOS and Android was launched back in October 2024 (in Canada and the US) and is available for Nintendo Switch Online members. So these aren’t free but only available to paying Switch Online members.
