Bell Adds Multi-Factor Authentication to MyBell App

Bell has rolled out multi-factor authentication (MFA) to its MyBell app, adding an extra layer of security for customers logging in.
The MyBell app lets customers manage their Bell services from anywhere, including viewing wireless usage, changing TV or internet packages, paying bills, upgrading devices, and getting support. It also includes self-serve tools such as step-by-step installation guides, appointment management, and a virtual repair tool for troubleshooting.
When you try to log into the MyBell app, a web wrapper pops up and you’ll be logging in like you are on the web, and not just right on the app.
With MFA now in place, Bell customers will need to verify their identity using a second method — such as a code sent to their phone — in addition to their password when signing in, making accounts more secure against unauthorized access.
Rivals Telus and Rogers also support multi-factor authentication when logging in. Our telecoms need to offer the ability to set up one-time passcodes using an app, and not just sent via text message or to email, to help bypass scammers that may have hijacked your accounts.
