Bell Bringing Faster 5G to 224 Canadian Communities by 2026

Bell says it’s boosting its wireless network across Canada, with upgrades planned for 224 communities by early 2026.

The work includes adding new towers and upgrading existing ones, which should mean faster downloads, smoother streaming, and more reliable video calls for millions of customers.

“Bell is executing on our strategic priorities to deliver the best wireless networks and put customers first. By investing in more than 220 communities this year, we’re expanding coverage, enhancing performance and giving more Canadians access to the country’s best and fastest 5G+ network1. These improvements mean faster speeds, smoother streaming and a more reliable experience wherever Canadians live and work,” said Mark McDonald, EVP, Chief Technology Officer, Bell Canada, in a statement on Thursday.

The company said the improvements are happening in cities, rural areas, and even northern communities. Right now, Bell touts its wireless coverage already reaches more than 99% of Canadians, and 89% of the population can access its 5G and 5G+ networks.

Bell says it has put nearly $24 billion into its wireless and Pure Fibre networks since 2020 to expand coverage and speed.

Bell’s 5G sucks in the Coldwater, Ontario area and surrounding areas, most of the time I only get LTE, with a few minutes of 5G
