NBA Games Coming to Apple Vision Pro in Immersive 3D

Basketball fans will soon be able to watch NBA games in Apple’s immersive video format on the Apple Vision Pro, offering a 3D courtside-like experience.

A new app from Spectrum SportsNet (no relation to Rogers Sportsnet) will stream select Los Angeles Lakers games from the 2025–26 season in Apple Immersive, letting viewers feel as if they’re sitting right on the floor. The first game is expected to be available early next year, with a full schedule coming this fall.

Games will be filmed using Blackmagic Design’s URSA Cine Immersive Live camera, built to capture Apple’s spatial video format. Highlights and full-game replays will be available later through both the SportsNet and NBA apps.

Apple says the Vision Pro will also feature more immersive sports content in the coming months, including new films and series from brands like Red Bull, MotoGP, and Audi’s F1 team.

The NBA app for Vision Pro is already available in Canada and other regions, offering multiview options, real-time stats, and even a 3D tabletop mode for select games. We won’t be able to see live NBA games though as that looks to be for Spectrum SportsNet users only. It will be interesting to see if any Raptors games in the future will be broadcast in Apple’s immersive video format–maybe if there’s enough demand for it (you know, for the five owners of Vision Pro units in Canada; kidding).
