Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Mega Rising Expansion Arrives October 3th

In a released preview trailer for the expansion, we’re shown that Mega Evolutions are arriving in the game. As a pretty influential form of evolution within the series, Mega Evolutions will now be available in the game, making it a pretty exciting expansion for fans.
The Mega Rising expansion comes with three face booster packs to choose from. This includes Mega Gyarados, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Altaria. Each one provides a new series of cards to collect, including Mega Evolution Pokémon EX cards. One of the interesting new mechanics in the game is how Mega Evolution Pokémon EX cards are incorporated into battles. If a card is taken down, it’s an instant loss for the player, as defeating once grants the opponent three points or vice versa.
The Mega Rising expansion launches on October 30, 2025, at 2 AM ET/ 11 PM PT on October 29. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek at the new series of cards.
On top of delivering three expansions, Pokémon TCG Pocket is refining the trading system. As of October 30th, players will be able to trade cards with ♦–♦♦♦♦ rarity ratings. This will be limited to one card per day, but it does open up the option of trading more rare cards. This will include cards from the latest expansion as well.
Pokémon TCG Pocket is celebrating its first anniversary and for hitting 150 million installs since its launch last year. As part of the anniversary celebration, the First Anniversary Celebration Campaign will give away a pack of each new Mega Rising booster pack. Players will be able to redeem these packs in the Gifts section when logging in. Players can also complete special missions to receive a first-anniversary emblem and other rewards.
