Starlink Canada Deal: Get Free Hardware Rental for a Limited Time

Product detail residential.

SpaceX has launched a new Starlink deal in Canada, offering up free hardware rental for a limited time, reports Tesla North.

For eligible addresses, you can now pay $0 per month for hardware (Starlink dish and wireless router) for a limited time. All you need to do is pay $19 shipping and handling and tax. Starlink says if you cancel service, you will have to return your hardware rental. The regular price for Starlink hardware in Canada is $499 plus tax.

This is for the Starlink Residential dish (with snow melt capability) for a fixed location, which offers unlimited data and typical download speeds of 135-305 Mbps and upload of 20-40 Mbps.

Starlink standard dish 2025.

Now while the hardware rental is free (like most big telecom internet plans), you do need to pay $140 per month for service. Starlink offers a free 30-day trial and right now shipping is in 1-2 weeks.

Starlink’s low-Earth satellite internet offers rural residents high-speed internet that’s faster than what regular telecoms can provide for the most part. Thanks to the 8,500 Starlink satellites in orbit, the company’s constellation remains unmatched for now, while over 500,000 active Canadian users are taking advantage of the high speed internet.

We’ve seen so many Starlink promos lately it’s hard to keep up. Earlier this year, the company was offering its $499 kit for free to select addresses in Canada.

Honestly if you're in a place that offers it Rogers Wireless to the home (WTTH) is good.

600 GB of usage (more than most families) for just $80 / mo. If you're single, you can probably get away with 200 GB for $60.

Speeds thereafter are capped at 10 Mbps, unlimited.

Usable for sure, but not if you're streaming to more than one tv / computer at a time.

Rogers. Nah.
5G? Nah.

Rural areas cannot get decent 5G speeds to make it viable.
5G relies heavily on lots of repeaters to even get high speeds.
Sure if you live in Toronto or any big city you will see decent speeds but services like starlink are far more stable.

Starlink will always be the best choice if you are in the middle of no where or far enough from towers.

That being said. Rogers doesn’t give a damn about the rural communities.
If they did; they wouldn’t be shutting down 3G or selling off their towers in places like Moosonee.

Hmm it honestly depends where you are, and its hard to say they don’t give a damn when they’re the only national carrier with over nearly 11,000 across such a sparsely populated country.

…"if you cancel service, you will have to return your hardware rental"… what a scam! I prefer buying it then
